Team 6 White Team policies
Welcome to Quincy Junior High! Thank you for visiting my homework website. :) Here are team policies for students and parents to review. Understanding the expectations will help students have an even more successful start to the school year!
6th Grade Team White Policies
· Once a student enters the room for class, he/she must stay in the classroom. If a student enters and then leaves and/or does not have materials that are needed, they will be counted as tardy.
· At the sound of the bell, students must be in the classroom actively preparing for class (individual teachers will set her expectations with students). If a student fails to comply, a tardy will be marked.
· Students will have Thursday and Friday to practice their schedules without penalty for tardies. Official tardies will begin on Monday, August 21. After three tardies to a class, a student will come in for lunch detention, call home, and complete an action plan. Once this occurs, the teacher will write a classroom managed referral.
· If a student is tardy three more times again, that will be an office referral.
· Water bottles are to be clear and contain only plain water. No flavored water, fruit juices, Gatorade, or any other liquids.
· Late work…all late work must be turned in (without penalty) on or before the day of the unit assessment.
· If a student does not perform well on an assessment and would like to retake the assessment, all missing work must be turned in before the retake.
· If a classroom door is closed, and the light is off students are to wait in the hallway for the teacher. This is true even if the door is unlocked. Students are not to be in a classroom unattended.
· At the end of each class students will be dismissed by the teacher. The bell is a reminder for the teacher to dismiss. Students will leave the classroom orderly, following teacher expectations.
· No food or eating in the classroom at any time. Failure to comply will be a classroom managed referral.
· Only necessary supplies (6th grade supply list) should be brought to class…teachers will request that extra supplies be taken home.
· Remind students that PE lockers are not supervised and it is best to keep always keep PE locker locked and valuable items left in hallway lockers.
· Phones must be out of sight and silent at ALL times. If a student is seen with phone out or in use he/she will be asked to take phone to attendance office. Teacher will call Ms. Moody to let her know phone should arrive there. A classroom managed referral will be written and student will be able to pick phone up at the end of the day. Any further violations will be an office managed referral and parents will need to pick phone up at school. It will not be released to the student.
· If a student is sick or does not feel will, he/she may not use his/her cell phone to notify parents. School protocol will need to be followed by asking teacher for a pass to the nurse. The nurse will contact parents.
