Greek and Latin Roots One Pager is due on Monday!
Students have the option to participate in the 30 Book Challenge! Students need to have 15 books read when we return from Winter Break to be bridgeable for the January Reward. Students can also participate in the Six Flags Read to Succeed Program. They just have to read 6 hours (at home) before February 15th for a free Six Flags St. Louis Ticket. This week students will focus studying the elements of a plot in a story. They will recognize, analyze and apply elements of plot to think about their own reading. Students will also be studying 12 common Greek and Latin root words. Roots are the building blocks of language. They will show their knowledge of plot by completing doodle notes to practice and a one-pager assignment to show what they've learned! Upcoming Due Dates: - Greek/Latin Notes should be completed by the start of class on Thursday. - Plot test will be Friday - Greek and Latin Roots One Pager will be due on Monday, December 18th! This week students will have a vocabulary test on Unit 3 (Tuesday) and published argumentative essays are due on Thursday. If students need to finish tying at school, please remind them to come talking to me ASAP so we can find a time for them to access a computer!
